This week Fr. Lawler gives us a tour of the only medieval English cathedral with 3 spires, Lichfield Cathedral. Dedicated to St. Chad and St. Mary, the Cathedral was used as a fortress by supporters of King Charles I during the English Civil War and significantly damaged. The Victorian period saw significant restoration efforts, and, although presently in the hands of the Church of England presently, the tomb of St. Chad there still serves as a pilgrimage site for Catholics.
Fr. Lawler concludes this week's episode by sharing a touching note found in the pocket of Pvt. Gareth Leslie William Bellingham, a British soldier killed in Afghanistan in 2011.
